New Cross Gate Residential Development, New Cross, London

King Shaw Associates were commissioned to provide both Structural and Building Services engineering on this project. Firstly to satisfy the planning constraints and then to provide scheme and Tender documentation for various parts of the works.

The project involved the construction of 3 separate new residential blocks; Block A 9,000 m2 on 6 storeys with a ground floor level landscape podium set over a car park deck; Block B a 6 storey block of 3,500 m2 and Block C a 9 storey Block of 6,000 m2 with a circular rotunda structure forming the upper levels.

These Blocks sit on a site adjacent to New Cross Road and New Cross Gate Rail station. The proposal was to construct the structure as a concrete frame with flat slabs all stabilised by concrete cores, which would also enable vertical services distribution, supported on piled foundations. King Shaw Associates used the Revit drawing package to enable the coordination of disciplines and allow drawing information to be inputted into our analysis package.
